Society of Women Artists Private View

I've been waiting for this in anticipation since the end of July, when I got the news I had a piece selected for the Society of Women Artists 157th Annual Exhibition. It was worth the wait. The exhibition opened on Tuesday this week, with Private View Wednesday morning, presided over by the President Soraya French and patron HRH Princess Michael of Kent.

It was a lovely morning, glorious sunshine outside, the buzz of artists and supporters inside, within the ever-inspiring Mall Galleries, London. Lovely to have friends and family supporting me! I was thrilled to see my piece 'She Walks in the Path of Those Before Her', from my heritage stitch series, amongst so many amazing pieces of artwork from talented women artists. I found it so inspiring! It was also fabulous to see Caroline Wong pick up an award for her painting - I last saw Caroline when we both had pieces up in Burgh House for the Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize. The exhibition continues until 1pm Sunday. I'd urge you to visit - so many great pieces of work. Click here for Mall Galleries information.
