One Autumn Afternoon, original oil painting
6 DEC: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PAINTING IS SLIGHTLY DAMP. I HOPE TO BE ABLE TO POST IT BEFORE 17 DECEMBER CHRISTMAS LAST ORDER DATE.
This is a landscape painting of the Ashdown Forest, painted in oils on canvas board.
Colour is a huge joy for me, to enhance what I see with my eyes and bring it out in rich hue with my paint brush. I painted this piece up on Ashdown Forest. Too cold to paint en plein air, after a morning of drawing outside, I got my paints out in the car. I like to think that still counts, especially as I didn’t put the heater on.
It was a November midday, through to early afternoon, with changeable light - from overcast to bright sunshine, ending in brief showers. When I began, the muted aubergine shades of the bear branches were visually playing against the russet of the bracken. A joy to paint.
The piece comes unframed, would benefit from a simple tray frame. If you’d like me to arrange that, please drop me an email.
Artwork size: 8 x 10 inches; 20 x 25 cm.
The painting will come safely packaged flat, signed on the back, with accompanying certificate of authentication.
Colours may vary slightly from screen image to final painting.
Please note that the buyer is responsible for any applicable customs duties.

Payment options: Paypal, Stripe (credit cards), Clearpay (payment in 4 interest-free instalments).
